July 19-24 (Week 7) 24th of July Race and Prep for Camp

In some ways it's been a long summer, but it has also gone quick. Here we are at the end of Summer Club, our 24th of July race is this week, and we are getting ready for camp. Hopefully you are seeing some of the hard work you have been putting in paying off as you feel yourself getting in better shape and you feel the relationships with your teammates forming stronger bonds.

Purpose of the Week's Workouts: This week's workouts. This is our final week of the Foundation phase. If you've been doing what you should, you should be ready to put in some big minutes and some big workouts for the rest of the season now. We will be doing our second 15min Test on Monday, so we look for some nice improvements there. Wednesday we will have a long run with some broken tempo out at the Warner Valley Exit, and we'll look to have a strong effort on Saturday for our 24th 2 miler.

This Week's Schedule:

Upcoming Events:
24th of July 2 Miler - July 24th at the Harvest Lane Park in the Fields, race starts at 7:00a - registration at 6:45a - PVXC will be racing and we want to invite all family, friends, neighbors of PVXC to come join us (cost... donations accepted to fundraise for the team). We will need help timing and at intersections as well.
High Altitude Camp - July 26th-29th; cost $90 pay to PVXC Club (not the HS), absolute last day to pay as we need a final count and all payments taken care of by Monday (cash or Venmo @Dave-Holt77). This has been pretty hectic organizing with cancelled campgrounds and such. But we are back on for the campsite up at Jacob Lake. It will be a great location, and we are looking forward to an amazing team building experience. If you haven't finalized your plans, we really encourage you to come be part of camp. This is where you make friendships; this is where our team comes together; this is where so much of our growth really cements itself. Come be part of it!
Parents: we will need rides and if anyone wants to stay and help chaperone any or all of the time please let the coaches know. We've got to get this organized ASAP. Driving Directions
