Thank you to everyone that helped at the marathon and for Miles in organizing it all. It was a long, hot day, and you guys kept the energy and worked very hard. Thousands of people were grateful to you for your support.
Now we focus onto Region and our championship season meets. Just another push and invitation for those that finish up your season this week to keep coming out to practice. Those that would like to join our team at State must keep coming to practice. And of course, we have our post season meets (even the Autumn Classic 2 miler here at PVHS) where we would love to have you join us as we all work to continue to build our aerobic engines and connect our seasons and years.

PVXC Thought of the Week: "Great TEAMS are built when individuals chose something bigger than themselves. Once everyone commits to the same goal, the daily work begins to move the TEAM forward. Consistent effort creates trust, and trust allows TEAMmates to rely on one another. When trust is strong, TEAMS can face challenges together instead of alone. How a TEAM responds to challenges becomes the culture that defines it. A strong culture doesn't guarantee success, but it gives a TEAM its best chance to achieve something special. The power of a TEAM is not found in one person doing everything. It is found in everyone doing their part, together."

We've been through a lot this year. Injuries, sickness, good races and bad, a lot of heat, a lot of miles, challenges we've all faced outside of running, the challenges of coming together, learning to trust, working with those whose personalities are different than ours, meeting some goals and working on others, and on and on. Everyone of these things has made this TEAM what it is. This is an exciting time. It is emotional and exhilarating to be ready to toe the line at a Region Championship meet. Remember that it is okay to be a bit nervous and anxious - it shows that you care and want to do well for your TEAM and yourself. Go back to the many things we've talked about to help you accept the nerves and use them to get you ready to roll. And most importantly, remember that you will always have a TEAM there with you - a TEAM that cares for you, knows your worth and value, and will carry you just like you carry them. And... let's go have some fun!
Our Middle School program: There is a meet this week on Thursday, October 8th at Grandpa's Pond in Hurricane. We haven't got much info on it yet, but would love to have everyone participate. This week we will have practice on Monday and Wednesday after school at PVHS. This is a developmental camp hosted by our HS and is available for 6th-8th graders.
