The girls raced amazing at Hurricane this past weekend. Kaylee Boyer won the girls race in 19:25 out-kicking Cedar's Ashley Gray in the last 100 meters. That was just the beginning for the ladies, however, as Jessica Peterson ran a great race from the beginning to place 3rd followed closely Rachel Stone in 5th. The Panther ladies rounded out the scoring with Rachel Heinrich in 18th and Sierra Worlton in 20th. These great finishes placed the girls 2nd just 5 points off Cedar - 42 to 47. The JV girls also ran well paced by Liz Harrison taking 9th in the race followed by Kylee Becker in 11th and Tammy Kemp and MaKayla Baxter also running well.
With most of our Varsity boys taking the morning off - if you call a 15 miler off! - Casey Kimzey held onto his 7th position by placing 10th overall in 17:48, Dyllen Cafferty took 11th in 17:52, and Morgan Wood in 13th with a 18:02. In the JV race Wesley Plumb ran a strong race to place 4th with a 18:38.
Here's the Spectrum's report. Good race everyone - especially the ladies!
