Great job everyone. Region was a big success and, once again, the Panthers showed well. As coaches, it's been our pleasure working with you all season. We hope you've had a great time. We encourage all of you to keep running and improving.
Announcements:
  • Everyone going to State needs to pay the $25 hotel fee by practice on Monday. (And make sure you are at practice on Monday afternoon.)

Race Reports -
Youngsters Region - Our PVXC Youth Club did great at their Region meet on Monday. The MS boys took 1st with 5 boys in the top 10. The girls took 3rd. On the Elementary side, we didn't have enough to score but did have individuals place 1st and 2nd on the boys side and 4th and 5th on the girls side. Great job Youngsters! We are very excited to have you moving up to the HS level soon.

Region - Although it got a little warm on Tuesday, it was a beautiful day for an XC meet on the St. George Golf Course. The JV girls got us started very well and in dominating fashion. Addie battled to the end and took 2nd. Next came Kennis in 3rd, Kylee placed 4th and was followed by Allison in 6th, Kyanne in 7th, and Emma in 10th. Official team scores had us winning 22 to DH's 63, Cedar 69, Hurricane 78, CV 158, and SC 178 (Dixie and CC no team score). The boys JV had Gabe earning a top 10 medal with a 7th place finish and leading the team to a 3rd place finish (DH 33, Cedar 39, PV 95, CV 116, SC 122, Hurr 124, Dixie 230, CC 242) with Trey, Caleb, Matt, and Bentley rounding out our top 5. On the Varsity side, our boys placed 4th (team scores: DH 51, CC 61, Hurr 77, PV 82, SC 115, CV 121, Dixie 211, CC 250). Luke and Scottie had excellent races and placed 5th and 6th. James also ran very well and finished 12th, less than a second off of being a medalist. Dakota and Boston were our 4th and 5th scorers. The Varsity girls had a great battle with DH and came out with our first Region title in 3 years. We were led by a 4th and 6th place finish by Jessica and Alli. Adri placed 12th followed by Brook in 18th (the top 2 freshman in the race) and Pyper in 19th. Brinley finished in 21st and bumped DH's 5th for our total of 59, to DH's 62, Cedar 99, Hurr 105, Dixie 116, CV 132, SC 164, and CC 215. Great job and Congrats ladies!

Alumni Report -
Josie raced for SUU at the Nuttycomb Invite in Wisconsin this past weekend and ran a very strong race finishing her 6K in just over 22 mins.

Quote of the Week -
"No one can whistle a symphony. I takes a whole orchestra to play it."
-H.E. Luccock
As we come to the State Championships this week, we want to thank every one of you for all you do. Parents: you all give so much time and support for these kids to do great things. Athletes: you're time, effort, and hard work are often marked by significant ups and downs, but the life lessons you learn will grow with you forever. Remember, every person around us is part of our team - all of you have created this orchestra that is PVXC. And when 14 runners hit the course on a crisp fall Wednesday afternoon in Sugar House Park, our whole program will be there to back you up because you are a representation of us and we are a representation of you. We are Proud to be... PVXC. XC4Ever!
