A very big thanks to Corbin on doing a great job organizing the aid station at the marathon. And another big thanks to all those that came and helped. We had a great time, and I know there were a lot of very thankful runners. Good work everyone.
Good work to Scottie on his first HS XC win which took place at this past week's Snow Canyon Invite! He ran a great race and patiently waited to push past the two leaders from SC and take the win. We had a lot of other strong performances as well, including a strong run from Brianna to lead the girls team.
Region: This week we head into Region on Tuesday at Sand Hollow Golf Course (the same location as the Hurricane Invite). The races will begin at 4:00p with the JV Girls, followed by the JV Boys at 4:30, then the Var Girls at 5:00, and Var Boys at 5:30. The MS kids (Youngsters) will then run at 6:00p - please note this change! Awards will follow. The bus will be leaving PV at around 2:15 and then picking up the 9th graders. Everyone must ride the bus. Please, please, please plan on staying the whole meet and cheering for the team. You may leave with your parent after the awards, or on the bus with the team.
After Region Practice Schedule: Those racing at State are required to be at practice on Thurs, Fri. Those who aren't racing at State are still invited. We will continue practice the week of State as usual with morning and afternoon practices. Everyone who is taking the club trip to Nike (Phoenix) needs to plan on continuing to practice with the team during the week of State and the next month building up to Nike. A few of you who have some injuries may be asked to take a few days or so off to get healed up. If you aren't going to Nike, and aren't doing a winter sport, you are still invited to come out and run with us if you'd like - it will definitely help you become a better runner!
Team Banquet: A date hasn't been set for the banquet yet, but we usually hold it around the first week of November. We are looking for any parents who would like to help plan the banquet - please contact Coach Holt if you are interested.
Minutes for Week 18: Update minutes for last week here.
Youngsters: What an awesome year we've had with our Youngsters Club. The club will have practice Monday as usual, followed by the race on Tuesday at 6:00p at Sand Hollow Golf Course (there will only be 1 race on the 2 mile course, not a MS and Elem race). There will be no practice over the long weekend. Then the final practice for our XC season will be on Monday the 16th. It will be the annual ice cream run (bring a little money for ice cream at Arctic Circle - and tell your rides that you will be a little bit later on that day).

Thought for the Week:
Just stole this off the internet... don't know who said it (maybe Michael Scott). "Believe in yourself, push your limits, experience life, conquer your goals, and BE HAPPY!"
