Region - We have the opportunity to host Region this year on Tuesday, October 9th from 4:00-7:00p. We will be using the Sand Hollow GC Course that hosted the Hurricane Invite and Region last year. We REALLY NEED some help from parents along the course and at the finish line. Please let the coaches know if you're able to help. Helping at this meet will still let you do some good yelling and cheering for our Panthers as we go for some Region titles!
State - We would like to take everyone that wants up to State with us (at Sugarhouse Park in SLC). We can take up to 48 athletes (14 of which will be racing). We will be leaving at lunch on Tuesday, Oct. 16th and returning on the evening of the 17th. If you would like to travel to State with the team, we ask that you keep coming to practice after Region and that you pay $25 (non-State racers) to help pay for the hotel. That money needs to be paid to the PVHS finance office ASAP. Coaches need to know who is planning on coming to State at the Monday meeting this week.
Phoenix - The $100 down payment for the Nike trip is due. We have a few spots left. This money will guarantee your spot for the trip. The total cost will be around $175-$200 depending on our bus cost and the number of athletes who come (the more athletes, the lower the cost). Please remember that all payments will be made to the PVXC club through Coach Holt and MUST be made in cash (no checks accepted). The second payment will be due some time after State.

Week 16 Athletes of the Week -
Tough at Practice - James, Jr. JD has really pushed himself to battle for a top JV/Varsity spot.
Team Builder - Carson, Fr. New to our program this year, Carson has done a great job at bringing the team together through his hard work and positive attitude.
Performance - Jenna, So. After a great summer, Jenna has been battling injuries a little. Her performance at Cedar (a JV win) was a big step forward for her progress.
Snow Canyon Invite - We saw some really good racing at the SC Invite on Thursday. Jada led our girls with her 3rd place finish. Jenna (6th) and Sarah (8th) also finished in the top 10. Kathya, Kylee, and Macy also had one of their best races of the season. On the boys side, Evan and Jose ran very well for a 1-2 finish. Tavin (11th), Jason (13th), and Zach (14th) rounded out our scoring for the team win.
Thought of the Week: "Will you back on life and say, 'I wish I had,' or 'I'm glad I did?'"
-Zig Zigler
PVXC State Champ Nick Hill always said, "No ragrets"! Now is the time to set set aside all that is "scary" or "intimidating", all of your uncertainties and fears. Now is the time to run with no regrets. No matter the outcome of Region, won't it be great to look back and say, "I'm glad I gave it everything I could. I left nothing in myself in this race. I put it all out there on the course." and to say that honestly and truthfully and really mean it? We are very proud of all of you - where you have come from and all you have progressed; how you have pushed yourselves and your teammates. And we are grateful for the opportunity we've had to work with you in this journey. Now, let's go have some fun racing our very best this week!
