Week 10

We just finished up a great week of high altitude camp up at Deer Haven Campground.  Thanks to all the parents who helped get the team up and down the mountain.  Thanks to Papa Holt for the tasty meals.  And a huge thanks to all the captains and the great work they did to pull off such a big effort.  We had all sorts of activities, great runs, rain, skits, rain and did we mention rain!
This week we will not only be starting school on Thursday, we will be having our first race on Tuesday.  Check the info below for important XC related stuff:
  • Practice schedule and workouts are posted - remember we will be meeting Monday at PVHS at 6:30a
  • Your Minutes for Week 9 need to be updated
  • Sponsor Paperwork is due MONDAY - turn the money in to the finance office at PVHS and bring receipt and paperwork to Coach Holt
  • Spirit Pack info is due MONDAY at am practice - the info can be found in last week's post - and the Team/Parent shirt has been updated, so check it out (if you don't turn in your spirit pack paperwork in on time, you will not get the things you want #bumma)
  • RACE: Tuesday we will head up to Cedar HS for the Cedar All-Comers - the bus for 9-12th graders will be leaving the HS at 4:00p.  All members of the team MUST ride the bus to the race, but can ride home with their own parent upon sign-out with Coach Roberts after the whole team races.
    • EVERY HS (9-12th Grade) athlete MUST have all paperwork at registermyathlete.com complete, Physical turned in, and Participation Fee paid to be cleared to race
    • We will be getting our uniforms after Tuesday am practice

Wow!  What a summer - we had a lot of great stuff going on.  Let's keep it up as we transition to the school year.  Think about how many of you talked about a person who recruited you and made a difference in you coming out to XC... I challenge everyone of you to now be that person for someone else as we move into the school year.  It is a perfect time to get someone started.  Challenge them to come out for 2 weeks and see how much they really like it.  And calm all their fears by telling them about how it was when you got started and what you like about it so much.  This is going to be a truly special year and we want to share it with everyone that we can.
